Gramps 5.2.x and newer use Gspell ([https://github.com/gramps-project/gramps/pull/1450 Port from GtkSpell to Gspell][https://gramps-project.org/bugs/view.php?id=13514 Does not work on macOS AIO]) for Spellchecking and Grammar composition. A Dictionary is used for localized spellcheck within Note objects. The Affix file contains the rules to allow reports to compose sentences following grammatically correct plural and tense forms.
